KATHMANDU — Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Mahendra Yadav has said it would not take long to supply water from Melamchi to the Kathmandu Valley, as only 1.6 km is left now for tunnel construction to complete the much awaited Melamchi Water Supply Project.
Speaking at a programme organized by the Reporters’ Club here Sunday, Minister Yadav clarified that technical problems delayed the construction, thereby pushing further the deadline time and again.
“I urged for patience to all, as the mega project envisaged by the late leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai is nearing completion,” he told the parched Kathmanduities, informing that he had instructed the concerned Divisions to accelerate the project.
Moreover, the Minister said that the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has also assured not to let any chance of budget crunch to the project. RSS
