U19 Asia Cup shifted from India to Malaysia

KATHMANDU — The ICC (International Cricket Council) has changed the venue of U19 Asia Cup from India to Malaysia after the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) raised its objection on touring India, was scheduled to start on November in Bengaluru.

On asking why PCB requested ACC to change the venue, newly elected  PCB chairman Najam Sethi “The matter of shifting the tournament to Malaysia was amicably agreed by all participants in the development and executive committees since no one wanted it marred by security considerations of any member,” told ESPNcricinfo.

The tournament will feature eight teams, with four – Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka – qualifying automatically. They will be joined by two teams each from the Western and Southern Region, who need to earn qualification into the main tournament.
