Amy Fallan is an Australian musically star, and a professional film editor and maker.

Here are five things about Amy Fallan that you didn’t know:

1) I am so shy and socially awkward. Many fans must think I am lying as I am constantly posting Musical.ly’s and Youtube videos, but in real life, I’m so shy. Filming in front of a camera when there’s no one else around is different to doing it in real life. I am so bad that: I don’t like talking on the phone and I will NEVER ring someone, they usually will have to call me. I don’t like to order food at a restaurant or takeaway store — I always seem to stuff up my order. I don’t like to answer the door to my house when the postman delivers a parcel. Anything involving small talk basically falls under something I avoid. I’ve always been like this and I’m not sure why! It’s a bad trait to have and something I’m working on to get better at.

2) I can cook Nepali cuisine quite well. It’s taken me MANY attempts, many different recipes, and many different ingredients before I’ve managed to cook momos and Nepali Thakali with a lot of taste. I also make Jalebi and Gwaramari. It’s great to be able to cook another cuisine well to change things up around meal time. I wish Nepali cuisine was more popular in Australia because it’s so tasty!

3) I am absolutely terrible at Mathematics, but I am well advanced at English (grammar, reading, spelling, writing.) Ever since I was a little girl I found it difficult and boring to do maths. Anything past basic addition and subtraction will leave me stumped. I never even managed to learn the times’ tables despite my mum drilling it into my every afternoon after school! Luckily for me, the field of work I’ve gone into doesn’t involve any maths and our phones have calculators regardless. I can honestly say that ever since dropping the subject in year 10 I’ve never needed it since. On the other hand, English is a subject I’ve always loved and been quite good at.

4) I work at a supermarket part-time. Much like the Australian version of Bhatbhateni, I work as a checkout worker and supervisor while I am studying at university. I work at the store four days each week and help to manage the team of people working in the customer service department. I like the job due to the never-ending incidents that occur and the people I work with, but I’ll be glad to see the back of it once I step into the filmmaking industry full-time.

5) Many people think I should be in front of the camera due to my popularity in Nepal, but usually, I am behind the camera as my profession is filmmaking and editing. Film editing is something I’ve done since I’ve been about 11 years old. I’ve loved it so much I’m finally studying filmmaking and editing at my university. Strangely enough, I actually started my degree in Journalism which I wanted to do as my job for years. When I actually studied it at university, I ended up hating it. That’s when I managed to switch into a major I enjoyed.
