A celebrity favorite for feminine silhouettes in soft; nourishing organic fabrics and admired by international bridal editorial & Critics for her simple yet unique designs with a conscience, Sanyukta Shrestha was born and raised in Nepal. Beginning her design career at the age of 17, Shrestha called ‘Couture’ a home when she started designing dresses, counting Miss Nepal, Miss World, and Miss Earth among the organizations she has worked with. After enjoying the success of her label within Nepal while creating designs for Films, celebrities, and Miss Nepal Beauty Pageants for 7 consecutive years, Shrestha attended London College of Fashion in London, where she advanced to Bridal.

Opening her boutique Behuli, in 2011 she designs to conceive the bride’s dream into reality and establishes as one of the leading luxury wedding dress designers in the UK. From her formative years, growing up in Nepal, Shrestha developed a love for tradition and an affinity with nature. Her initial journey of volunteering for World Wildlife Fund Nepal (WWF) and Women’s Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC Nepal) has led her deep understanding of animals’ vulnerability, human exploitation, and environmental damage from the fashion industry. Combining her experience, knowledge and ethical belief, Sanyukta’s decision to use eco fibers in her collections underlines her commitment to the environment and development focusing on ‘fashion with a conscience’. Through blending sustainability with her ethical beliefs, she has been able to create opportunities for village women in Nepal, by merging and turning their traditional hand looming skills into delicate fabrics and designs which Sanyukta describes as the soul of her brand.

Honored with several national & international awards for graceful creations and innovative approach of empowering women in developing countries, one of the designer’s bridal creations is preserved in The Fashion Museum, Bath.   • Momo is her favorite dish since the age of 3.
  • Sanyukta did a degree in English Literature & Journalism besides her full-fledged fashion career in Nepal and is an avid fan of Shakespeare and Swechyya.
  • Sanyukta’s most treasured Art Work, preserved in the Fashion Museum in England, was made from old newspapers dates back from 1982 that she found under her living room’s floorboard.
  • The child model who stars in Sanyukta’s first flower-girl collection was her daughter Ameya, at the age of 11 months.
