KATHMANDU — A recorded breaking match and woe for Indian Cricket Board to find the best middle order before World Cup 2019 proved in Australia series. DRS has become one of the talking points in this series as Indian Captain Kholi mentioned it in the press conference.

4th ODI match between India and Australia, India won the toss and opt to bat first on a pitch where batsmen are favored than a bowler with the average 1st innings total of 271 runs in past match played at Mohali. India started quite brilliantly, Shikhar Dhawan was playing good shots where Rohit Sharma was taking time. Both the openers were on the 90s adding 193 runs partnership before Rohit misses his century, was out on 95 runs by Peter Handscomb off Jhye Richardson. Shikhar Dhawan doesn’t miss his century in the venue where his test career was debuted in a quite brilliant fashion in 2013. Shikhar Dhawan scored career best 143 runs off 115 balls before being bowled by Pat Cummins.

With the little cameo from Rishabh Pant and Vijay Shankar at the end overs, India was able to post 358/9 in 50 overs. On the way, Pat Cummins 5/70 become one of the expensive 5-for as Jasprit Bumrah hit a six of his last ball.

2019 has become a record-breaking year in cricket, England vs West Indies series did everything spectacular to cricket fans.

Australia lost 2 wickets for 12 in just 3.3 overs (Aaron Finch & Shaun Marsh). Usman Khawaja, last match centurion, and young Peter Handscomb were at the crease. They made 192 runs partnership (Highest 3rd wicket partnership against India). Usman Khawaja was dismissed on 91 runs off 99 balls by Jasprit Bumrah. Peter Handscomb scored his maiden century in ODI. He scored 117 runs off 105 balls.

Then the Ashton Turner crafted the chase with 13 balls remaining by scoring 84 runs off 43 balls. It is the fifth highest total chased down in cricket and highest target chased by Australia as well as against India.

DRS was being focused from third ODI where the technology consistency led dismissal of Aaron Finch in 90s. In this ODI, Virat Kohli told in the post-match conference. But the DRS call was a bit of surprise for all of us and it’s becoming a more of a talking point every game, it’s just not consistent at all, that was a game-changing moment. Not only with Man of the Match, Ashton Turner’s decision on 41 but the technology favored Usman Khawaja on 85. With World Cup 2019 coming, Technology should be more focused on avoiding such game-changing movement. Before the World Cup 2019, Australia is searching for a perfect combination where India is still searching the solutions of middle order woes. With squad declared for Pakistan Series, no Steve Smith and David Warner. Will AUSTRALIA consider them for World Cup or they will go without them to HOME OF CRICKET, ENGLAND?
