THIMPHU, BHUTAN (Xinhua) — As Bhutan prepares for the third Parliamentary Election this year, the leaders of political parties have promised to put national interests ahead of party interests and refrain from corrupt practices.

The political leaders, through a panel discussion organized by Bhutan Democracy Dialogue, conveyed that they would find a middle path and not let elections become a factor to divide people.

According to reports from the Election Commission of Bhutan, the third round of parliamentary election is likely to see six political parties competing in the primary rounds. Of which only two would make it to the final rounds.

This election would also witness the elections and primary elections of National Council members (members of Upper House) from across 20 districts.
