KATHMANDU — Binod Das, the former captain of Nepal National team, has announced there will be an open trail to select the team for the upcoming Nepal U19 matches. Nepal Under 19 cricket team is scheduled to play a One Day series in India and then Asia Cup cricket in Bangladesh in the next two months time.

According to him, concerned authorities have sent the request and started the preparation but ICC is yet to give the assurance for the India series. “We are starting the process as it might take time to get approval from the ICC and we might fall short of preparation period,” Das said. “If we get approval for the India series from the ICC, that will be the perfect platform for us to prepare for the Asia Cup,” he added.

The open selection process is scheduled for August 13 to 15 at Velocity Arena, Kathmandu.
