BUTWAL — The landslide triggered by incessant rainfall nearby Sidda Baba Temple in Palpa district on Saturday night has obstructed the Butwal-Palpa road section along the Siddhartha Highway, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded on the road.

The rockfall along with the landslide occurred at around 11:30 pm brought the traffic to a halt since then, according to the Regional Traffic Police Office, Butwal.

As the vehicular movement was obstructed along the road section, passengers were unable to reach to their respective destinations, police said.

Two dozers, each one from Butwal and Palpa side, have been mobilized to clear the debris of the landslide.

The clearance of derbies is likely to take time given the large volume of debris, police added. RSS
