We are currently looking for some aspiring interns for following listed positions.

We will provide a 3-4 month probation period and then assess if you’re willing to stay on and are getting us results – we will then discuss a full-time position. We need someone proactive, who loves media, entertainment, film, music and has no trouble dealing with potential clients on the phone and email. May also include work on set, research also post production experience is a big plus.

Content & Editorial Intern:


Editorial & Content intern will be responsible for content entry and maintenance needs on Kathmandu Tribune’s website. An editorial and content intern will need to be focused, able to work quickly and efficiently, and have an eye for detail. Interns must also excel at writing and be familiar with event previews, reviews and blogging in general. Bringing an individual style and personality to your work is always encouraged.

Content Management including:

  • Entering events as well as happy hours and daily specials from various sources i.e. newsletters, venue and event calendars
  • Contributing regularly to the (ex. concert and event previews, show reviews, interviews with artists, etc.)
  • Creatively thinking about other editorial content that would be of interest to the Kathmandu Tribune community
  • Contributing at least three event reviews a month, such as concert reviews, play reviews, or any other type of event/restaurant/bar/etc. reviews


– Able to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
– Strong understanding of Facebook and Twitter with current, active profiles on each.
– Strong, proven writing and communication skills
– Strong passion for music and/or Kathmandu valley events and nightlife
– Generally “in the know” about Kathmandu valley events and happenings
– Self-Motivated – ability to focus and complete duties in a casual environment
– Flexible schedule – able to attend Kathmandu Tribune meetings as frequently as possible

Things that will set you apart:

– Currently writing a personal blog or contributing to an existing site /publication
– Some great ideas right off the bat of how we can do more with our content

Editorial/Journalism Intern:


Selected candidates will be assigned urban entertainment writing assignments including news, reviews, and interview with celebrities and executive throughout the many facets of the entertainment industry. Interested candidates must be available to deliver proofed and ready for print original articles at least 3 times per week.

– Assist with editorial projects and provide support to the Communications Editor.
– Proofreading both hard and electronic files, basic copyediting, and writing of proposals and reports;
– Assisting with or proofing of basic ads, flyers, brochures, invitations, etc.
– Work on special projects, as needed

– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
– Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, English, business communications, or communication arts.
– Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail and problem solving skills
– Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
– Experience/interest in Web maintenance
– Familiarity with Adobe In Design and Adobe Acrobat is a plus

Social Media & SEO Marketing:


Are you a social media night owl? Live for social media? Do you want to be the face of and make a name for yourself and learn how to build your own professional network? Then this position could be what you are looking for.

Seeking candidates that are passionate about social media and improving the user experience to have an integrated platform for users. Only motivated and dependable applicants should apply.


Daily expectations:

-Managing company social media sites,
-Pitching Marketing strategies and campaigns to launch on social media
-Work with the team to build out the company brand
-Work on small and large projects company-wide
-Be able to monitor follower postings across social media platforms, post responses, work with the blogging team to determine areas of improvement in strategies, what’s new, what are trends to follow etc. Have an interest in learning these skills.

– Should have writing samples, be willing share social media accounts, references, and interested in work for a start-up. 

Media Intern (Film/Video/Photo):


We have an immediate opening for a part-time photographer and videographer. We are looking for a creative and skilled video/film maker to help produce/edit short (1 to 5) minute company and job videos. Initial video work may involve use of stock video and applying text overlays, background music etc. We also want to make original videos with our clients.

– Assist in all aspects of video and photographic communications and contribute to planning and storyboarding
– Assist in the end-to-end process from storyboarding to logistics to shooting to editing and publishing
– Film video and shoot photographs in studio and field environments
– Record desktop computer screens and actions for demo and training videos
– Use existing original and stock footage to produce new videos
– Contribute to mixing and editing to create polished and engaging videos
– Publish videos primarily to the web and touch-up still photography


– Able to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week

– Have the potential to deliver videos and photos that succinctly and clearly tell the desired story
– Ability to deliver videos with cuts, graphics, sound and other elements that convey a quality production value and a level of technical sophistication
– Experience with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Captivate and Adobe Photoshop or similar photo and video editing software
– Knowledge of digital videography and photography cameras and equipment

 Social Media & Community management Intern:


– Post news and article to Social Media

– Flexible hours for work and opportunity to work from home as need basis

– Utilizes social media to engage with a community of fans/followers online
– Coordinates online marketing and advertising campaigns
– Collaborates with internal departments on projects and assignments
– Demonstrates interest in social media and how media and communication strategies can continuously engage in the online community


– Provide links to 1-3 social networking profiles to demonstrate interest and knowledge
– Possesses skills in writing, presentation, interpersonal relations, and customer management

Contributor – Work from Home (Online Job):

Description is a news website focusing on good to know news, especially trying to focus on the good aspects of life. This initiative is for high school and College students to choose the news they think is important, write a condensed article summary of the original article(s), then have their writing, grammar, punctuation, and writing style edited and improved by our Senior Editor.

Upon post/article consistency and quality progress would generate a potential part time online earning platform after 3-4 months of evaluation.
