KATHMANDU — The Ministry of General Administration has decided to mark the 23rd Civil Service Day this year, being centred on the relief and rehabilitation of the flood-affected people.
Under-Secretary at the Ministry, Srijana Tiwari said a decision was taken to celebrate the Day by conducting programmes being focused on the flood victims rather than with jubilation as 26 districts in the country have suffered a big loss of life and property due to flooding and inundation brought about by the incessant rains.
Tiwari said programmes like health camp, afforestation would be conducted in a way to provide relief to the flood-affected people.
Accordingly, the Civil Service Hospital will run health camp in Rautahat on coming Tuesday and in Sankhu of Lalitpur on Wednesday for the benefit of the flood-affected people.
Similarly, an essay writing competition around the theme ‘Role of Civil Servants in Disaster Management’ will be organized on the occasion.
The 23rd Civil Service Day is being marked on September 7 with the slogan of ‘Commitment of the Civil Servants: Transparency and Efficiency’.
A main celebration committee headed by the Government Chief Secretary Rajendra Kishor Chhetri has been constituted for making the Day successful. RSS
