KATHMANDU — The government has tabled the Constitution of Nepal (Second Amendment) Bill-2073 BS at the Legislature-Parliament today.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Yagya Bahadur Thapa presented the Bill at the parliament seeking clause-wise discussion on it.

It may be noted that the Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) has staged protests for a long time expressing discontent over some provisions of the new constitution after its promulgation. The disgruntling side had been mainly raising the issues of provincial boundary, language, citizenship and representation in the National Assembly.

The government has come up with the amendment proposal to address the demands of agitating side and increase the acceptance of the national charter.

Earlier, the Legislature-Parliament unanimously endorsed the proposal to send the Bill related to the remuneration and benefits of President and Vice-President- 2074 BS to the concerned committee for clause-wise discussion.

Next meeting of the Legislature-Parliament shall take place at 1.00 pm on August 20. RSS
