KOBANG, MUSTANG —  A cow farm and a cheese factory have come into operation in Thasang rural municipality-2 in Mustang district.

Dhaulagiri Gurusamphu Agriculture Cooperative operates the cow farm and cheese factory.

Cooperatives chairman Nar Bahadur Hirachan said that they have brought the cow farm and cheese factory into operation to decrease import by supplying dairy products from Mustang, to create employment and to increase income.

He said that import of milk from Pokhara has decreased with the operation of the cow farm. The farm was established at a cost of Rs 5.623 million. There are now 20 cows in the farm.

The farm produces 70 litres to 115 litres milk every day. Similarly, the Cooperative has brought the cheese factory into operation for the first time in the district. Around seven kilos cheese is produced in a day at the factory. RSS
