MOHATTARI — An improvised explosive device (IED) went off last night in Gaushala municipality – 8 of Mahottari district – a week before the third phase of local polls.
The gas cylinder bomb was detonated by an unidentified group at a corn field belonging to local resident, Umesh Mahato, District Police Office, Mahottari said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Deepak Pokharel, said a round ring, clothe and motorbike tyre were found burning over the cylinder bomb when the first responders reached the site.
The latest cylinder bomb explosion comes after a tiffin box IED denoted a day before the candidates’ registration outside of the premises of Bardibas municipality. Police in Mahottari have said no one has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion. RSS
