KATHMANDU — The Election Commission has fixed the maximum amount a candidate can spend in the coming elections of House of Representatives and State Assemblies.
The candidate for the first past the post category of House of Representatives elections can spend Rs 2.5 million, while Rs 1.5 million for provincial assembly election in the same category.
The money could be spent under transportation, publicity, seminar, office running, mobilization of representatives, said EC spokesperson, Nawaraj Dhakal.
Similarly, under the proportional category in the election of the House of Representatives, a candidate fielded in the closed list can spend up to Rs 200,000.
For the same category in the provincial assembly elections, a candidate can spend Rs 150,000. RSS
