KATHMANDU – The Election Commission (EC) has urged candidates of all political parties to cooperate in the vote counting process.

Issuing a press release, the EC stressed that the political parties cooperate in expediting the vote count as there are reports that some political parties and candidates have been prolonging the vote counting process by creating tiny and unnecessary troubles.

The EC has directed the Election Officers and employees deputed for vote count to add human resource as required for accomplishing the vote count on political consensus at the earliest.

EC Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma said that the EC is aware and respectful of the voter’s right to know the results of the vote they cast without any delay.
