KATHMANDU — Federation of Nepali Journalists had expressed condolences over the demise of senior journalist Ganesh Ballav Pradhan.
Issuing a condolence note Sunday, FNJ General Secretary Ramesh Bista said the FNJ was shocked to know the demise of senior journalist Pradhan. He further said the entire Nepali media lost an experienced journalist with the demise of the Pradhan.
Also the former Chairman of the National News Agency (RSS), 83-year-old Pradhan had breathed his last during a treatment at Blue Cross Nursing Home in Kathmandu yesterday. He was suffering from respiratory disease. He is survived by a wife, a son and two daughters.
Meanwhile, the FNJ has condemned the attack on its council member from Kalikot district, Arjun Prasad Bhattarai. It has demanded the local authority to investigate the incident and take punitive measures against the attackers.
The attack on media persons the violation of citizen’s right to information and journalists’ right to free reporting, it added. RSS
