KATHMANDU — The Communist Party of Nepal (Masal) has termed the announcements of an electoral alliance among the CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center) and the Naya Shakti Nepal, and the possible merger ahead a positive move.

“Such alliance cannot be the leftist alliance however,” the party stated.

In a press statement today, the party said the three political parties do have no unlikeness principally and politically, and in terms of political character as well, and it was better for them all to stay integrated instead of separated.

However, such announcement would not contribute to the communist unification in the country, but instead put them (the three political parties) at risk of getting deviated from the Marxist-Lenin ideologies.

Stating that the CPN (MC) move to join the incumbent government under the leadership of the Nepali Congress was wrong itself, the CPN (Masal) dubbed the fresh alliance and efforts for party unification as a ‘bold’ and ‘positive’ step.

The party said that it was open up for having an alliance with these political parties in the upcoming federal and State Assemblies elections slated later this year. RSS
