RAUTAHAT — In the final vote counts of the local level election held at the Garuda Municipality of Rautahat on September, the Federal Socialist Forum (FSF) and the Nepali Congress (NC) shared the victory on the major posts.

FSF candidate Indu Ray Yadav has won the post of mayor by securing 3,876 votes against his nearest competitor Sunil Kumar Yadav of Nepali Congress who finished the race with 3,803 votes. The vote counting completed late night yesterday.

Likewise, Rangila Devi who has been elected to the post of deputy mayor with 4,603 votes is the NC candidate. Her nearest competitor Bindu Devi, the FSF candidate, got 4,276 votes.

With Yadav’s victory on the post of mayor at Garuda, the FSF has won the elections at four levels in the district which has the total 18 levels. RSS
