RAJBIRAJ — The Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) candidate has been elected mayor and Nepali Congress candidate deputy mayor in Khadak municipality of Saptari district.

According to the vote counts result made public on Saturday late night, Hemayu Haq of FSFN attained 3,128 votes to get elected to the mayoral post while his closes rival Kiran Kumar Bhagat of NC secured 2,994.

Likewise, Yasmin Siltan Khatun of NC received 3,237 votes to get elected to the deputy mayor against 2,769 of FSFN’s Bindula Kumari Jha.

NC has won chairpersons in ward 1,2,3,9 and 10, Nepal Democratic Forum in ward 4 and 6 and FSFN in 7,8 and 11 of the municipality.

Newly elected mayor Hemayu is the son of former independent parliamentarian Mohammed Sadrul Miya Haq. Haq was murdered by the members of his family around four years ago. RSS
