BIRGUNJ — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, has said that the current constitution is progressive as it has empowered Dalit, women, Madhesi, Janajati and all minorities.

Gachchhadar, also the chairman of Nepal Democratic Forum, said this while addressing an election rally organized by his party at Maisthan in Birgunj this afternoon.

He also said that the current constitution was appropriate for stability of democratic republic.

Gachchhadar added that the Dalit women have got an opportunity to contest in the polls as the current constitution has ensured 33 per cent of seats to the women and Dalit.

Stating that pressures were mounting on him to make Janakpur the provincial capital of Province No 2, he said that Birgunj can be the capital city for having sufficient infrastructure. RSS
