After the publication of her novel ‘Pakhalieko Siundo’ and a joint collection of stories ‘Asahamatika Pailaharu’, Dr. Sangita Swechcha is ready to launch her new book ‘Gulafsangako Prem’ – A collection of short stories.

The story collection is set to be released on the 20th of January by a legendary writer Tulasi Diwasa. The book is being published by Color Nepal, a literary publication house based in Nepal.

The storybook is a collection of published and new stories. The book consists of 20 stories out of which 13 stories have been published in different literary journals, magazines, books, and websites.

‘It is titled ‘Gulafsangako Prem’ and it is one of the stories from the book in which a guy falls in love with a flower – a rose. The story unfolds why and how he falls in love with a flower. The title of the book gives some sense that our life is like a rose where we find both softness as in its flower and hardships as in thorns’, says Swechcha.

‘Indeed, where there is love, there is germination of betrayal, hate, and revenge. The form of love, however, could be different. It is not just love between human beings, it could be love towards the country, love towards a career, position, social prestige or love towards passion and desire.  I have tried to bring these in the other stories in the book where the characters in the stories have ups and downs in their lives’, adds Swechcha.

The launch of the book event taking place on the 20th of January will have guest speakers such as writer and documentary maker Shekhar Kharel, poet Manjul, writer Sushmita Nepal and story writer and novelist Nirmal Kumar Thapa shading light on the book.
