KATHMANDU — Former ambassador of Nepal to India, Deep Kumar Upadhyay, has said India has full support and cooperation for the elections of House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies in Nepal.
During a programme organized at Reporters’ Club in Kathmandu Tuesday, he said, “The left alliance was made merely for election purpose, and India has taken it normally.”
“As India has full support and cooperation for the elections in Nepal, it is not good for Nepal to doubt on India,” he said, adding that the election was not for the success of any party, for it is for the success of the nation, success of the people.
He confided that he felt it free from moral constraints as he decided to return to active politics from the diplomatic arena. His resignation from the post was approved Monday. RSS
