Delhi Daredevils 214 for 3 (Pant 97, Samson 61) beat Gujarat Lions 208 for 7 (Raina 77, Karthik 65, Rabada 2-27) by seven wickets.

KATHMANDU – Rishab Pant and Sanju Samson lead the way to victory for Delhi Daredevils as they beat Gujrat Lions by 7 wickets in the 42nd match of the season.

This was not the day of bowlers as the total of 31 sixes were slammed.

While chasing, Delhi lost their skipper Karun Nair for just 12 runs then Pant and Samson put up 143 runs partnership between them from 63 deliveries to chased down the 2nd highest target (chased) in IPL history. Pant slammed 97 runs from 43 balls and Samson joined the party with 61 off 31.

Earlier, Delhi won the toss and asked Gujrat to bat first. They hadn’t a good opening partnership as they were 10 for 2 after 1.2 overs but 133 runs partnership between captain Suresh Raina (77 off 43) and Dinesh Kartik (65 off 34) lead the way for GL to set the target of 209 for opposition.

Rishab Pant was awarded with Man of the Match award for his blistering knock under pressure.
