KATHMANDU — Kamala Shrestha and Sanju Chaudhary have set the new national record in weightlifting in the Asian Youth and Junior Championship-2017 underway in Lalitpur.
Kamala improved her record in the second international championship under the group of 58-kg junior category.

She set the national record to her credit by lifting total 145-kg including 66-kg in snatch category and 69-kg in the clean-and-jerk category.

Earlier, Shrestha had taken part in the 13th South Asian Games held in Guwahati and Shillong of India.

Likewise, Sanju Chaudhary was successful in setting the national record in her international debut. She made the scintillating start by lifting total 140-kg including 60 kg in snatch category and 80 kg in clean and jerk category of Group B.

Sanju broke the record set by Devi Chaudhary in the seventh National Games. RSS
