KATHMANDU — Nepali Congress (NC) on Sunday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of its former central committee member, Pratapram Lohar.
The party also approved the condolence resolution and has decided to close the party office today.
The emergency meeting of the NC’s Central Working Committee (CWC) held in the Party’s central office in Sanepa under the chairmanship of Party President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today took the decision to this effect, according to the NC Central Office Chief Secretary, Krishna Prasad Poudel.
Earlier, PM Deuba also extended tribute to late Lohar after draping his body with the party flag at the premises of the party office, Sanepa.
In a press statement released following the CWC meeting, Chief Secretary Poudel has wished for the eternal peace to the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
NC maintained that Lohar’s contribution for strengthening party organization, democracy and Dalit advancement among others would be ever remembered.
NC concluded that his demise has caused irreparable loss to NC organization and Dalit movement.
All the NC organizations across the country would be closed in honour of late Lohar and the party’s flag would be lowered to half-mast from today to coming Tuesday, according to NC central office. RSS
