KATHMANDU — The Nepali Congress (NC) is to organise this year’s Dashain reception in respective parliamentary/State electoral constituencies. It has been customary in the NC to host the official reception on the day of Kojagrat Purnima, the final day of Dashain Festival.
The party in a press statement said that its official Dashain reception will be organised at the respective parliamentary/ provincial electoral constituencies as the party and cadres need to be engaged there in view of the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies. The reception is being held in the party central office, Sanepa.
NC founding leader and first people’s elected Prime Minister BP Koirala has established the custom of hosting the official reception on the final day of Dashain festival after he returned home from exile in India in 2033 BS.
