JANAKPURDHAM — Nepali Congress (NC) has clinched victory in the mayoral race for Dhanushadham Municipality in Dhanusha district in the third phase of local level election.

The third phase of local level election was held in eight districts across province no 2 on September 18.

Baaleshwor Mandal secured 4,473 votes to be elected to the post of Mayor of Dhanushadham Municipality. His closest contender Yog Kumar Yadav of CPN-UML got 3,557 votes.

Similarly, NC’s Bidya Devi Bhujel received 4,207 votes to be elected to the post of Deputy Mayor of the same municipality. Her nearest rival Ambika BC of CPN-UML garnered 3,703 votes, according to the District Election Office, Dhanusha.  RSS
