KATHMANDU – Nepal government has withdrawn the constitution amendment bill on Tuesday, clearing the way for registration of a new amendment bill.
The bill was registered in the parliament on November 29 amid protest by the main opposition CPN-UML. It was tabled in the parliament on January 8 whereby UML was silent. The party has again remained silent about the withdrawal of the amendment bill on Tuesday.
The House meeting for Tuesday ended after withdrawal of the amendment bill. The next meeting has been called for April 20.
