KATHMANDU — A tourism promotion programme, “Nepal Night: B2B Tourism Event”, washeld in Bangkok on Thursday. The Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok, Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines and Society of Travel and Tour Operators (SOTTO) Nepal had jointly organized the event.

A large number of travel/tour operators from Nepal and Thailand, representatives from Thai news media, and representatives of different organisations in Thailand participated in the programme, the Embassy of Nepal, Bangkk stated in a press release.

Ms. Kulpramote Wanalert, Director from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and other officials from both sides were also present on the occasion.

The programme aimed at bringing together the business communities from Nepal and Thailand, which could greatly contribute to promoting tourism business between the two countries.

Mr. Bimal Kandel from Nepal Tourism Board welcomed the guests and shed light on the objectives of the programme. Dr. Khaga Nath Adhikari, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, spoke about the importance of tourism cooperation between Nepal and Thailand, and encouraged travel/tour operators to further promote their business relations.

Mr. Bimal Kandel from Nepal tourism Board and Mr. Anil Lama from the Society of Travel and Tour Operators Nepal introduced their organisations and made presentations on tourism opportunities in both countries.

After the formal part of the programme, businessmen from both sides had a fruitful B2B session. During the B2B session, the businessmen from both sides got to know each other, introduced their businesses to each other, exchanged views on how to promote businesses for mutual benefit, and established contacts for long-term business cooperation. They also established business-linkages for future cooperation.

Nepali artistes from Bangkok presented Nepali cultural performances during the programme. The performances were coordinated by Thai Nepali Association. RSS
