KATHMANDU — Nepal is to participate in the FIBA U-16 Women’s Asian Championship Basketball Competition being held in India held on 22 October.

A 16-member national women basketball team was bid farewell by Chairman of Nepal Basketball Association, Tendi Sherpa, amidst a programme Wednesday. He extended best wishes to the team.

A total of 14 countries including, India, Nepal, Australia, China, Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and New Zealand are participating in the championship.

The attending players are Pratiskhya Magar (captain), Shreyashi Rana, Nista Rajbhandari, Nilam Sherma, Mamata Gurung, Aditi Chaudhari, Sushma Gautam, Roshani Shrestha, Arisha Shrestha, Sanskriti Maskey, Chhiring Chokey Sherma and Ashmita Thapa.

Similarly, there would be team manager Saroja Koirala Shrestha, coach Bipin Kapali, and assistant coach Sushil Gurung and an officer Raj Kumar Maharjan. The team is leaving tomorrow. RSS
