KATHMANDU — Nepal Telecom is set to launch ‘Voice over Long Term Evolution’ (VOLTE) service for its from Monday.

Managing Director Dilli Adhikari informed that the company is currently testing the services based on the 4G/LTE network.

“International ITU Day – May 17, that is, the test will start from tomorrow,” he said. Telecom has already completed testing on mobile sets suitable for VoLTE before starting testing for .

The company has been repeatedly testing mobile phones that can run VoLTE since last December. “Now the service will be tested at the user level,” the official said. “4G across the country will be able to take the service.”

He said the test would be important for VoLTE’s commercial service.
