WICHITA, UNITED STATES — A young Nepali entrepreneur, Manoj Panthi, is a recipient for 2018 40 under 40 by Wichita Business Journal (WBJ) this summer. Manoj Panthi is announced as one of the recipients through the Wichita Business Journal website on Monday, April 23. Those who are named to the class of 2018 will be recognized at a celebration scheduled on Thursday, June 21, from 6:00-8:30 p.m., at the Hyatt Regency Wichita, Kansas. The people chosen for the 40 Under 40 honors are selected who are under 40 years of age for their career success, their involvement in the community and their willingness to help others. 2018 marks the 21st anniversary of the 40 Under 40 honors. The WBJ has recognized 800 young professionals during the program in past.

Manoj was born and raised in Nepal. He pursued his undergrad and graduate education from Wichita State University in Kansas, USA. After working as a Structural Analysis Engineer for over 5 years, he is currently working as a project manager for advance Research and Development for an Aerospace Company, Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. based in Wichita, Kansas. Spirit Aerosystems is leading aircraft manufacturing company that build over 70% of every 737 that Boeing delivers and also designs and builds large aerostructures, including fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, for both commercial and defense programs. Manoj is also in several leadership positions within the company for employee’s professional development and community work through employee business resource groups. He is highly active in community work volunteering over 100 hours every year and manages volunteer recruits needed for several non-profit organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Tour De Cure and so on.

Manoj is co-founder and CEO of a next-generation media company in Nepal, Nepal Tribune Media (NTM). He believes there is a big gap for a Tribune: a champion of the people’s media in Nepal. NTM is currently running Kathmandu Tribune and Nepali Tribune as English and Nepali news daily as an Independent media in Nepal. His ambition is to bring a value-added and quality journalism for people. He has plans to introduce a business news portal that would help local companies and businesses. He is married to his wife, Anu Budhathoki, and has a 3-year-old daughter, Manasi. He is passionate to work for the betterment of humanity in every possible way.

Manoj was also selected as an Emerging Leaders for 2017/18 program by WBJ. More than 70 young Wichita professionals participated in the third group of Wichita’s Emerging Leaders. The group participated in a year-long program that includes roundtable discussions, social events, panels and a class at the Kansas Leadership Center.
