WALING, SYANGJA — A person hailing from Waling of Syangja district has reportedly died from Swine Flu.

Khum Prakash Aryal, 49, of Waling–14 died in course of treatment at the TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu on Monday.

“We have received verification from the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division that Aryal’s death was caused by Swine flu,” Waling Primary Health Centre Management and Administrative Committee Coordinator Dilip Pratap Khand said, adding “We have appealed to the locals to remain alerted on the possibility of an outbreak of Swine flu in and around Waling.”

A team has left Kathmandu for Waling to test the samples of the flu whereas the necessary medicines were sent on Thursday.

“The situation at hand is that seven to eight patients have already been referred to Pokhara and Kathmandu from Waling and the surrounding locality,” Khand disclosed. “I appeal to anyone suffering from the cold for too long with difficulty in respiration and problem in the throat to immediately come to the Primary Health Centre on Friday,” he added.
