Passengers injured in Badhigadh accident escorted to Kathmandu


BAGLUNG — Passengers who were injured in a jeep accident at Badigadh Rural Municipality-5 in the district this morning have been airlifted to Kathmandu via a Nepal Army Helicopter.

According to CDO Rishiram Tiwari they were referred to Kathmandu for further treatment as their treatment at local hospital was not possible. The injured include Bhim Bahadur Serbuja, Tek Bahadur Paija, Deepshikha Paija, Balmati Paija, Dinesh Paija and Bhim Bahadur Serbuja of Badhigadh Rural Municipality-8, Baglung.

Meanwhile, four persons killed in the accident have been identified. They were Tul Bahadur Pun, 27, Harman Kaucha, 39, of Badhigad Rural Municipality-4, Narayan Serbuja, 36, of Badhigad Rural municipality-8 and Mukta Bahadur Paija, 60, of Badhigad Rural Municipality-5, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anil Kumar Khadka. They died on the spot in the incident.

The accident took place when a jeep (Dha 1 Ja 184) heading towards Gwalichour from Jaljala fell some 700 metres off the road. Pun was the jeep driver. RSS
