RATNANAGAR, CHITWAN — Necessary preparations have been expedited and deployment of the officials has been conducted for the purpose of re-polling in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-19, Chitwan.

The re-polling is scheduled for Friday in Bharatpur-19.

Assistant Election Officer Gambhir Ghimire said that a total of 36 officials including polling officers have been deployed to make the election a success.

He added that tents have also been arranged in the polling stations to minimize the effects of possible rainfall.

Likewise, prohibited zone has been declared around 100 meters from the polling stations.

District Election Officer of Chitwan, Hari Prasad Dhakal, said that silence period has already been enforced from Wednesday adding that ballot papers would be taken in every voting station today.

A total of six polling centers has been fixed in three polling stations in Bharatpur-19 for altogether 3,797 voters.

The polling stations are in Kiran Secondary School, Jiban Jyoti School, Gunjanagar and Sharadanagar Secondary School.

The re-polling is being held at the ward after counting of votes in the May 14 election was stopped after ballot papers were torn by party agents on May 28 night. The election commission had decided to hold re-polling in the ward, which was also endorsed by the Supreme Court on Saturday. RSS
