Kathmandu surrounded by the lush green valley with a scenic backdrop of Himalayan ranges. Fresh streams of rivers flowing down the valley. The valley with empty space, clear blue sky and farmers working in their fields. Nowadays Kathmandu is dusty and smokes from the vehicle; its river is sewage, the street is waste dumping zone. The narrow lanes are packed with smoky two-wheelers, three Wheeler and four Wheeler. Waters for drinking, cleaning, and washing is scarce. The influx of people for different reasons; Kathmandu has to bear the burden.

Surrounding forest covers are reducing, rivers are drying up rapidly, aimless constructions and unplanned town planning are the common scenes. The unbreathable environment filled with minute dust particles and transport emission has degraded the air quality of Kathmandu.

Businessmen look for momentary undermining the health of people. The unfinished roadway construction in and around Kathmandu Valley are common sites. Dust generated from the ongoing construction of roadways and building, ill-timed finished road, and incomplete reconstruction post-earthquake are unappealing to our eyes. Motorcycles and private vehicles in the narrow lanes of streets disturb the flow of traffic. The pedestrian has to face many obstacles while walking in the streets.

People in the policy-making body can create the proper plan to stop men and women from migrating their places. The country areas must have the basic amenities like schools, hospitals, roads, irrigations and shopping malls. Rural employment scheme curb migrating population. Better urban and rural planning must be passed and enforced. Strict regulations of emission must be made to check pollution. People come to Kathmandu for the visa and passport, even for other works. All the major’s establishment of government is located in the Kathmandu. It has to establish its offices in the other regions, so they do not have come to this city. If the government gives soft loans and provide land for rural settlement which can encourage people to leave Kathmandu. Then only Kathmandu can be free from overpopulation and pollution.
