GULMI–The operation of the Paropakar Cooperative Hydro Power Project which stalled two months ago is yet to resume.
The 50 kv transmitter at Paudiamarai area of Musikot municipality–1 which broke down on July 13 has not been repaired. The villagers have not been able to turn on their lights for a long time, according to local social worker, Prakash Shrestha.
Around 350 households in the ward have been forced to live in the dark for the past two months whereas severance of power supply has disrupted industrial output and turned electric gadgets including mobile phone sets into useless materials.
The lack of electric power has also created difficulties for students. The Electricity Administrative Committee Chairman, Dharmendra Kumar Malla, assured of resumption of power supply after the electric engineers arrive by tomorrow to repair the transmitter. RSS
