BARDIBAS — Election fever has gripped the Tarai districts, Province 2, with political parties, election office and security bodies now seen busy preparing for the third phase of local polls slated for September 18.

Along with it, election-related activities have picked up in the 8 districts of Province 2. Political parties have also announced their candidates for the polls.

Various political party leaders and their candidates are found engaged in villages to win the hearts and minds of voters expediting election-related publicity work. Locals are meanwhile also looking forward to different popular agendas to be fulfilled.

Locals are excited at the prospects of electing their representatives using their franchise as they were compelled to wait for long due to continued strikes and protests in Tarai.

The Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre) and Madhes-centric parties including Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal are all geared up for the election.

On the other hand, political party leaders and cadres are also working to reach relief support to the inundation and flood survivors.

Madan Sada, a flood survivor expected that the leaders may address their problems after the elections as they directly witnessed their problems caused the floods and inundation. RSS
