CHITWAN — CPN (UML) leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said the provincial and federal elections should be held in a single phase.

Inaugurating the eighth central council meeting of Nepal Telecom Employees Association at Ratnanagar, Chitwan, on Friday, leader Nepal accused the government of trying to cheat people by holding phase-wise elections despite the convenience and conducive atmosphere for the single-phase elections.

He said that the government has been involved in appointment, transfer and promotion of employees rather than concentrating to holding elections.

The government was urged to make preparation to attract 10 million tourists annually make the country prosperous. He also suggested the Telecom employees to be active in providing quality service by giving up politics.

Similarly, Association Advisor Ashok Karna, Vice-President Damodar KC, among others also expressed their views.

The two-day meeting would conclude by issuing the Chitwan declaration. RSS
