Real Madrid won Spanish League for the first time in 5 years on Sunday, denying arch rivals Barcelona from winning its third straight Championship in front of Malaga’s home crowd.

Zinedine Zidane’s team secured its 33rd league title with a 2-0 win at Malaga with goals by Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Ronaldo gave an early lead with the goal in the 2nd minute of the match and Benzema doubled that lead in 55th minute.

The last round win over Malaga on Sunday gave Real Madrid 3 points lead over 2nd in the points table Barcelona, which defeated Eibar and came from behind to win by 4-2 at Camp Nou.
