KATHMANDU — Three girls have drowned in river and lake in separate districts on Monday.
Two girls drowned while bathing in Gopka river in Gauriganga Municipality-9 in Kailali district.
Assistant Sub-Inspector of Nepal Police Madan Joshi of Masuriya Police Post said that eight-year-old Ritima Dahal and 10-year-old Pritima Bista of Gauriganga Municipality-9 drowned while bathing in the river.
Meanwhile, 11-year-old Mamata Rawal of Baphikot Rural Municipality-4 in Rukum district drowned in Syarpu Lake on Monday afternoon, police said.
Relatives of Rawal have suspected that she died while swimming after she was trapped in fishing net put inside the lake. RSS
