ITAHARI — State Minister for Agricultural Development, Sarita Prasai, has argued that it was imperative to call for a complete transformation in the agriculture sector if economic prosperity were to be ensured in the country.
State Minister Prasai said so while on an on-site visit of the office of the Eastern Region Agricultural Research Centre at Itahari in Sunsari today.
Prasai also took stock of the various agriculture researches being conducted by the Centre.
Following the on-site visit, the State Minister for Agriculture underscored the need for the Ministry of Agricultural Development and the Centre to coordinate for advancing agriculture sector and practices.
She also reiterated that the development of agriculture sector was imperative for economic prosperity and so was enabling of an environment where farmers would work with dignity.
On the occasion, Acting Chief of the Centre, Rambali Pandit, National Buffaloes Investigation Programme Coordinator Ram Bali Shah and Fishery Research Programme Chief Umita Shah among other briefed the visiting State Minister Prasai about the Centre and its ongoing activities. RSS
