GAIGHAT, UDAYAPUR (RSS): Paragliding flights have been successfully tested in Belaka Municipality-8 in Udayapur district. Under this test flight, paragliders flew from approximately 600 meters high Bopatang and Champakot hills and alighted on the banks of Saptakoshi river.

The project aims to develop Koshi Tappu and Saptakoshi areas that fall under the municipality as tourist destinations through boating and paragliding, and attract more than 50,000 tourists every year, said the municipality mayor Durga Kumar Thapa.

“The areas have abundance potentialities for tourism. This adventure sport will help develop them as tourist destinations,” he said.
