Bhimdattanagar — CPN-UML candidate has been elected the mayor of Purnabas Municipality in Kanchanpur.

UML’s Jivan Raj Thapa has been elected the mayor with 6, 040 votes. His closest contestant, Bir Bahadur Thapa, of CPN (Maoist Center) mustered 5, 514 votes, whereas Nepali Congress’ Toya Prasad Sharma obtained 5,512 votes, Election Official’s Office stated.

In the deputy mayoral post, UML candidate Sharada Bista was elected with 6,366 votes. Her closest contestant, Bhuliya Rana, from NC obtained 5, 391 votes. RSS
