KATHMANDU — The mainstream political parties—CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre)–have agreed on forging an electoral alliance for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and the State Assemblies scheduled for November 26 and December 7.

According to CPN (MC) leader Narayankaji Shrestha, talks between the top leaders of both political parties ended with agreement on forging an electoral alliance and constituting a joint coordination committee for party unification. The meeting was held in Lalitpur.

Both political parties are to organize a joint press meet at the City Hall in Kathmandu at 5 pm today to unveil the agreements, said UML central office secretary Krishna Gopal Shrestha. RSS
