KATHMANDU — A US-Bangla plane, 78-seater Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 BS 211, has crashed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) runway this afternoon at 2:20 pm. The plane was bound from Dhaka, Bangladesh when it met with the accident.
The fire is now under control and rescue is underway. 14 passengers have been sent to the hospital.
A source at TIA revealed that there were 67 passengers and 4 flight crew. Among them 33 were Nepalis. According to the police, the casualties are now 49. While 21 are being treated at various hospitals.

According to the Traffic Controller, the pilot landed on 20 instead of 02 runway prior the crash. The pilot told the air traffic controller that it would land on 20 runway instead of 02 (as said by the traffic controller).
