KATHMANDU — Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has reiterated that government was firm on holding the election of the House of Representatives and of Provincial assemblies on the stipulated dates of November 26 and December 7.
During a meeting the Election Commission held between its office bearers and Chiefs of the major political parties Friday, PM Deuba said, “Both from the government and from the party, EC gets utmost supports on its efforts on making elections free and fair. EC has conducted the local level election in an excellent manner thereby making a historic achievement for the country.”
CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli said his party would fully implement the election laws and code to ensure the election free and fair. “The political parties and leaders violating the election code must be brought to book. State authority is the common property of all. The use of security bodies must not be guided improperly,” he stressed.
Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal, on the occasion, appreciated the role of the EC on accomplishing the duty of holding the elections on difficult time. He also committed of party’s support to EC on making election free and fair.
Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Upendra Yadav and leader of Nepal Loktantrik Forum, Ram Janam Chaudhary, said the election code of conduct must be abided by all political parties.
Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav said the EC has expected positive role of the cadres of the political parties to make election successful as was of local level elections. RSS
