KATHMANDU — The Nepal Police Central Investigation Bureau has arrested 17 doctors and proprietors from five different hospitals in the valley.

They were arrested on Monday from Apollo Hospital, China Greatwall, China People’s, Civil Hospital, China Dental hospital, according to CIB spokesperson Jeevan Kumar Shrestha. They were arrested from various locations in coordination with the Nepal Medical Council and the Consumers Interest Protection Centre.

Also on Sunday, the CIB arrested four persons on the charge of smuggling sandalwood. Janak Bahadur Karki of Sindhupalchowk, Kumar Gurung of Kathmandu, Janak Panthi of Rupandehi and Dilliram Limbu of Morang were arrested from Kathmandu metropolis-32.

Police also seized 250 kilograms of red sandalwood from them. They were sent to the district forest office for necessary action. RSS
