KATHMANDU — Former Mumbai Ranji player and coach Sulakshan Kulkarni will likely become Nepal Cricket’s batting coach. The ICC is yet to confirm the decision. Earlier Monty Desai was set to become the batting consultant but he was dropped from the list.

According to Wicket Nepal, Monty Desai was dropped for the batting consultant role as he asked for two years tenure. In the absence of CAN, this decision is likely to hurt Nepal team’s performance. However, Kulkarni cannot be written off yet. He has led the Mumbai team to win the Ranji Trophy during the 2012-2013 season.

South Africa tour is also out of Nepal’s schedule ahead of the Namibia Tour. The team will head to Dubai instead for the upcoming WCLC Division 2 matches.

Also, the ICC has announced the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018 schedule. The road ahead for Nepal team doesn’t look easy.
