POKHARA — The 9th Women’s and 18th Men’s National Handball Championship has begun at Pokhara Stadium from today.
Seven teams each from the male and female groups of five development regions, the Armed Police Force and Nepal Army have participated in the championship organised by the District Handball Association, Kaski with support from Nepal Handball Association. The Hong Kong Beauty Institute is the main sponsor of the championship.
Teams coming out first, second and third in the championship will get Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000, trophy, medal and certificates, respectively.
Central Chairman of Nepal Handball Association, Tej Gurung, said that the best players would be selected from the championship for 13th South Asian Games scheduled to be held in Nepal in 2019. The Championship will run till January 6. RSS
